Here I am again..

I'm feeling slightly ridiculous as I sit here typing this with one hand while I hold a sleeping Isabella with the other..
I feel like all I ever write about is why I haven't posted in so long and I want to stop doing that, so this will be my final time explaining it.

Life has taken some downward turns lately..
My son Oliver has some ongoing health issues and I've been very busy taking him to different appointments then researching and reading during my free time, so I have to admit that blogging was at the bottom of my list of priorities unfortunately.
I'm not going in to any major details yet, but once we have an official diagnosis I'll be happy to talk about it; it's hard bottling it all up inside when it's such a big thing to me.
Anybody who knows me knows that I am a sensitive soul and that my children are my world, so this has hit me hard.
However, I feel it's important to reach out to others in similar situations and share information and experiences, so I will be blogging at random times (whenever I have a moment) and it won't always be beauty/ shopping related - this will be more of a "documenting my life" type of blog; a place to record and share whatever is going on.
I know this won't be everyones cup of tea and that's fine, I'll understand if some subscribers choose to leave.

Now that part of this post is over, I'm going to finish with some things that have brightened my days lately..

1] Autumn /winter: This is my absolute favourite time of the year - a time for bundling up cosy and warm in gloves and scarves when you leave the house, to look up at clear night skies and see your breath in the air and most fun of all, a time to do lots of pretty crafts with the kids ♥
My kitchen is full of things the kids and I have made (almost all involving glitter at some point, haha) and I'm sure the dining table has glue all over it, but I don't care - I wouldn't have it any other way.
We're getting our Christmas tree soon and I cannot wait to decorate it.

2] Isabella learning new words: My little girl is a baby no more!
She will be 11 months old on the 1st of December and she is now a very loud and mobile toddler.
It seems like she says or does something new every day, but some of my favourite new words have been "BEAR!", "Ta!" (as she's giving you something or taking an object from you) and "Atchoo!" when she actually coughed, bless her heart.
She makes me very proud.

3] Oliver learning to count to 10: This is a big deal! He's refused to do this for the longest time but suddenly loves to count random objects with me, it's adorable.
Moments like that fill me with pure mumma-joy; I love to see him learn and grow in confidence.

4] Books: I've always been a bookworm (something that both of my children have inherited from their mumma), but they have become a massive part of my life once again recently.
From the time Isabella was born I had no time to read and at the risk of sounding extremely sad, it really did break my heart a little bit.
But now when the children are asleep at night (after their own books have been read), I try to take an hour or so to catch up on research then read a bit of something more lighthearted - I am currently reading "In Tearing Haste" which is a book of letters between Deborah Devonshire and Patrick Leigh Fermor, and "Mini Shopaholic" by Sophie Kinsella and I love them both ♥

5] Horses: I have always adored horses and other "countryside" animals but since I moved out of London I see them all the time and I'm so happy about that - there are lots of horses near where I live and I take the children to see them whenever I can.
The children aren't keen yet (they must seem quite huge and scary to the little ones!) but I'm hoping they'll change their minds as they grow older and maybe we'll even go riding one day!
Horses have such a calming effect on me, and I always feel much better once I've spent some time with them on what was a once stressful day.

So that's that really!
As I said, I won't promise to write again soon, instead I'll leave you with a few piccies and that'll be that until next time.

NYX Round Lip Glosses - Ballerina Pink and Sorbet

I've been wanting to try some NYX lip products since I bought 2 of their 10 colour eyeshadow palettes from Ebay ages ago..
I'd heard so many good things about the brand but never saw any products in stores near me, so I had a little look online again.
Anyone who knows me will tell you I'm a complete lip product junkie - I have so many glosses and lipsticks but I can't seem to get enough of them!
I really do think they make a look complete.
Anyway, I found my the round lip glosses here on Amazon and after Google image searching for ages, I finally decided on Sorbet, a soft peachy pink, and Ballerina Pink, a bright pink with blue undertones.

Both glosses have fine multicoloured shimmer in them which I personally like (sparkly things have always been an addiction of mine!) but I know that some people might find glitter irritating.
One thing that does bother me about these glosses is the smell - it's almost like washing up liquid!!
I don't notice it so much once they're applied to the lips but if you sniff the applicator directly it is a bit unpleasant, haha!
Other than that I don't have anything negative to say - the glosses aren't very sticky at all, still manage to last a decent amount of time and I bought them for a very reasonable £3.94 each with free p&p :)

Sleek: A little something special?

I'm aware that everyone and their mother has done a blog post or YouTube video about this, but I have been so excited to get my hands on this palette that I had to throw in my two pennies worth! :)

I am of course talking about the Sleek "Oh So Special" palette.
When I heard about it I was instantly intrigued - you know I love my neutral eye looks and I've wanted the Urban Decay "Naked" palette for a long time but have resisted..
A lot of people have said that if you want something similar on a budget then this is your best bet, so I hurried to my mum's local Superdrug as that's where I was at the time.
I found the tester straight away but they'd sold out, so I ordered my palette directly from the Sleek website for £6.49 plus £2.95 p&p.
It is part of the permanent line so there is no rush to buy it, unless you're over-excited like me, haha!

I love the box it comes in, so pretty..

The actual palette is just the standard black though, was slightly disappointed about that :(

And here are the 12 shadows - a mix of matte and shimmer shades..

For some reason "Gateau" didn't show up very well in the photo, but it is a really pretty shimmery golden pink in person, just the kind of colour I love!
I'm sure it would look even more gorgeous with a base underneath, but so far I've just put the shadow straight on to the lids and I am so happy and impressed with it so far.
As always, these mineral shadows are buttery smooth, easy to apply and blend and have great pigmentation.
There are also plenty of matte shades here for those of you who like a good mix - personally I like the shimmers best of all, I love the sparkle!
There is enough of a variation in colours to create many looks and I'm really excited about using it more and sharing my experiences with you :)

Revlon Apricot Chiffon and Benefit Sippin' n Dippin'

Hi again all!
I don't know if anyone is reading this as I'm losing followers, but I enjoy blogging so I'll carry on writing whenever I can :)

Things have been busy as ever; my mum is moving from London to a house literally opposite mine here in Essex and I can't wait!
It's been manic helping her pack and deciding what I wanted to keep from my old bedroom at her house, as well as all the usual mummy/ housewifely duties but I'm so excited, it's worth the tiredness ♥

I've been using pretty minimal make-up the past week or so and looking through my collection to find little hidden treasures that will make my life easier.
One thing that I've really been appreciating is cream shadows..
My skintone is pretty uneven on my eyelids and they get a little bit oily at times, so I need something I can apply quickly that will stay put!
Some time ago I was in the local Poundland looking at the make-up (you never know what goodies they'll have, although it is completely hit and miss) when I found a cream shadow by Revlon called "Apricot Chiffon".
I couldn't see much through the packaging but I figured that it wasn't the end of the world if I didn't end up liking it very much as it was so cheap!
I ended up really enjoying it in the end, as it's a pretty colour, makes a good base for powder shadows and looks nice and simple on its own to boot.
More recently I purchased the Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/ Liner in "Sippin' n Dippin'".
When I put it on it reminded me of something I already had, but I couldn't remember what..
Then I rediscovered my Apricot Chiffon, and I thought I'd compare the two:

As you can see from the photos, the two pots are almost the same size and both are pretty shades of peach with golden shimmery undertones.
I would say the Benefit shadow is much more gold, whereas the Revlon is much more peachy.
They both offer a similar amount of coverage and both last well when worn alone on the lid.
The Benefit shadow is of a slightly higher quality/ standard as you would expect, but to be honest I think that if you're on a budget and want a pretty cream shadow like these ones, you'd be more than happy with the Revlon - I've made a big dent in my pot and I know I'll be a bit sad when it's gone as I haven't seen it for sale anywhere since - fingers crossed it can be found online :)
I am tempted to try MAC's Paintpot in "Rubenesque" but keep stopping myself from buying it as there are only so many peachy cream shadows a girl can justify having, haha!
We'll see..

What are you grateful for today?

I live right next to a hospital in Essex and I think I've got used to hearing ambulances zooming back and forth over the past 4 months I've lived here (in the same way that I was used to hearing police sirens when I lived in North London)..
Today, while I was doing some washing up in the kitchen, I saw an air ambulance coming in to land on the helipad - this was something I hadn't seen here and I was reminded of an accident which occurred while I was still living at my mum's house.
My mum lives next to a stretch of road where a lot of accidents happen - people tend to speed along it and often lose control of their cars and bikes..
My own uncle died in the same way on his motorbike there unfortunately.
One day my mum and I saw an air ambulance landing at the side of the road and it was only then that we noticed there had been another accident and there was a lady trapped in her car.
Apparently they had spent a long time trying to free her and her injuries were so serious that she needed to be airlifted to hospital immediately.
So back to today..
I stood at my sink for a few moments, feeling sad and so so grateful.
I said a prayer for whoever needed that air ambulance, then looked around my messy kitchen; the pile of unwashed laundry that had been bothering me, listened to my son shrieking and keeping my baby daughter awake and I felt so alive.
I know it probably sounds dramatic, but it's things like this that make me realise that I am incredibly lucky.
My chidren may be challenging and I may feel tired and out of control a lot of the time..
My house may be messy and there will always be things I need to do which I haven't gotten around to doing, but in the grand scheme of things, does it really matter?
We have our health, we have a lot of love and happiness in our lives and without those things, life would be very different for us.
Don't get me wrong - I know that day to day it is hard not to complain when things don't go the way we want them to, or when life deals us a blow and it's hard to get back up and carry on.
But when I face another challenge, I will always try to remind myself of standing in my kitchen watching that air ambulance and remember how it made me feel.

A bit of retail therapy

On Sunday I popped in to town on a mission - I was determined to have a look at the new MUA (Make Up Academy) Pro line!
But when I got to Superdrug and had a look around, I realised they only had the regular products which was quite frustrating - I just assumed they'd have it..
I've since found out that my local branch aren't planning on stocking it yet, so I might have to get some online once the full range is up :)
Anyway, after that little disappointment I decided I needed cheering up so I had a look at the Sleek stand.
I've bought some of their eyeshadow palettes before and loved them, but never really paid much attention to the rest of their goodies..
The first thing to catch my eye was this Pout Polish in the colour Powder Pink -

This is definitely my colour, it's a real girly barbie bubblegum pink! ♥
It's glossy but not sticky, and from what I've heard, the Pout Polishes are moisturising too, almost like a balm.
I can't wait to try this out properly and let you know what I think of it!

Next up was the blush in Pixie Pink -

When I first saw this I thought it was gorgeous but possibly too bright for me - I'm not the most daring of people when it comes to make up these days!
But after swatching it and blending it in I decided I needed it in my life - it's summer after all :)
The consistency is lovely, really smooth and easy to blend and work with, so although it's very pigmented I'm sure with a light hand I'll make it work.

The latest eyeshadow palette Sleek have bought out is the Monaco i-Divine -

It's a mix of matt and shimmery shades inspired by the Mediterranean and it's amazing..
After my daughter was born in January I went through a phase of only wearing the most neutral of eyeshadows, since I hardly ever got the chance to do my make up and simply didn't have the time to experiment!
With colours like this I can add a bit of a colour burst to an otherwise boring eye look by using one of these shades as liner underneath the eye or lining the top lashes - and fingers crossed I'll have a bit more time for "putting my face on" once Isabella gets a bit more independent!

Next I took a wander over to the Barry M stand as it looked particularly well stocked and enticing!
I love the Dazzle Dusts and have been using them since I was at school (now that was a looong time ago, I can tell you!), so I always have a look and see if any catch my eye..
This time I picked up a basic shimmery white colour to add to my collection -

I'm thinking if I don't have time to create pretty colourful looks then at least I'll be sparkly eyed, simple as that, haha!

Which leads me on to the next product I picked up; the new Collection 2000 Glam Glitter Loose Glitter Wand in "A List" -

It's a simple product really - it has loose glitter in one end and a gel in the other, but it's very handy to have if you're a complete magpie like me and love glittery things :)
I like to do a line of glitter above my black winged eyeliner and this would be great for that purpose, as well as adding a bit of dazzle anywhere else.

I'm trying to add to my brush collection as it's pretty sparse, so while I was in Boots picking up some things for my kids I grabbed this No7 eyeshadow blend and contour brush - my mum has it and loves it, so I thought I'd give it a go too.

After that my Fiance Steve had had enough of make up and was bored senseless, so we went to do a bit of food shopping..
I always take a peep at the magazines and it seems like a lot of them are giving away free gifts at the moment - this always happens in summer but there are some really lovely things you can get your hands on at the moment - I was spoilt for choice!
I eventually decided to get Marie Claire which had a pencil eyeliner by a brand I'd never heard of, since I adore eyeliner and was in a daring mood, haha :)

The brand is Inika and it's a certified organic mineral eyeliner, which in itself is appealing.
It had a sharpener in the lid which is great as it saves you having to carry a separate one around with you, and the packaging is generally nice and simple - it looks quite classy.
The shade is "05. Graphite" and I really like it - the texture is so smooth and creamy, it doesn't tug on your skin at all when you apply it like some pencil liners do.

I'll probably do a face of the day using all of the products I have mentioned so you can see what they look like..

8 Questions Tag

Hi guys!
I realise it's been a long time since I last blogged, but you wouldn't believe how manic my life has been - I've come to the conclusion that blogging will have to be done late at night when the little ones are asleep and nothing needs to be done.
My daughter Isabella has developed pretty severe separation anxiety and screams every time I put her down or pass her to somebody else, which makes having time for my son and housework pretty hard..
It's got to the point where I can't even have a shower until she goes to sleep at night during the week, as I'm on my own with both kids the majority of the time.
I'm lucky that my son Oliver is a complete little star and tolerates his sister being such a diva with no jealousy or tears! <3

Anyway, to ease myself back in to blogging I thought I'd do this tag - I saw this particular set of questions on All About Beauty 21's blog and the idea is that you do the tag, then make up 8 of your own questions to pass on to your readers :)
I will put my questions for you to answer at the end of the post.
So, here we go!

1. How do you imagine yourself in 10 years?
I like to think that I'll have another child, still be living here in Essex and we'll be in a bigger house with a couple of cats.
In terms of a career, we'll have to wait and see!
I'm very confused about what I want to do at the moment.

2. Is there something you regret doing/ not doing?
Plenty of things, but I try not to dwell on them - life really is too short to have regrets and we should always try our best to make the most out of every negative challenge we face.
Trust me when I say I know it's easier said than done, but life is too precious to waste.

3.If there was one thing you could change about yourself, what would it be? And why?
I wish I wasn't so anxious!
I worry a lot about life in general, but it's something I'm trying to do less of.
I'm such a sensitive soul, my mind can be my worst enemy sometimes!
It'd be great to feel easy breezy about everything!

4.What is your favorite childhood memory?
My aunt passed away a few years ago, and I remember being little and having a sleepover at her house with her daughter (my cousin)..
We were watching movies and getting bored, so she randomly said "You know how mums and dads have mothers and fathers day once a year? Well it's kids day every day!" and took us to the corner shop to buy sweets and comics.
The fact that we were in our pyjamas and it was late at night didn't faze her in the slightest.
She was a very spur of the moment woman and this was typical behaviour for her - it's how I like to remember her..

5. If you could have one super power, what would it be?
The ability to freeze time!
I'd be able to do so much more in the day if I didn't have to worry about the baby getting upset and yelling the house down when I need a shower or to make food :)

6. If you could have only one make up item, what would it be?
Ooh, this is a tricky one!
I think it'd have to be mascara as it opens up my eyes so much more..
I have to say I really don't feel like me without winged out black eyeliner though!

7. What's the best thing about being a beauty blogger?
I don't purely blog about beauty, but blogging in general means a lot to me..
I've always loved writing and generally being creative, so being able to do this and get positive feedback from lovely people is great for me.
Since becoming a mum blogging has had to take a back seat (as have all of my hobbies), but that makes it even more fun when I do get a chance to write a post :)

8. What's your best make up tip?
The thing that I always remind myself of (and anyone else who is asking for make up advice) is to never follow trends just because everyone else is - make up is meant to enhance beauty and make you feel confident, but by wearing something that isn't "you", you can sometimes end up with a look that doesn't suit you and makes you feel uncomfortable.
Be happy in who you are and wear what suits you best!

I became a proud mumma for the second time on the 1/1/11 at 1:11pm!
Isabella Olivia Rose was born natirally at home in my birthing pool and she's been keeping me on my toes ever since :)

I won't lie, it's been tough running around after my son Oliver, who will be two years old on the 21st and having a new baby - especially as she was very poorly with jaundice and feeding issues, but slowly but surely we're getting on track.

I've recently moved house too, and it's manic but great to finally have our own family home <3
We're finally out of London, living in Essex and enjoying the peace and quiet and fresher air!
I'll do a proper house update once we've finished unpacking and we've got all the furniture we need.

Needless to say, I haven't had much time for shopping or make up lately (boo, hiss!) but I'm planning on spoiling myself a bit this Friday when I go out, so I might have a haul post for you soon! :)
I'm at my mums house with the kids 'til Friday and have just found out that her local Boots has started stocking Benefit - bad news for my purse, haha!

It's my 27th birthday on Friday and I'm looking forward to spending it with the ones I love the most <3
I'm going to take lots of piccies so I'm sure some will find their way on here too.

I'm sorry I've been so quiet - things really have been mad but I'm going to try and set aside a little time for blogging when the kids are sleeping and no housework needs to be done.

Something to pass the time..

1. Where is your cell phone? It's in the next room charging.

2. Your hair? Freshly dyed! (red)

3. Your mother? The Mothership is at her mums house doing some gardening for her :)

4. Your father? Is sitting next to me, hungover and snoozing <3

5. Your favorite food? Right now it'd be either Pick n Mix or chicken tikka massala! Yum.

6. Your dream last night? I really don't remember a lot of my dreams these days, thank goodness.. Because my dreams when I'm pregnant are always insane.

7. Your favorite drink? Fave general drink is water, can't beat it.. I also love tropical juice. For a treat it's got to be chocolate milk. And fave fizzy drink is Dr Pepper (I hardly ever drink that though).

8. Your dream/goal? My ultimate goal is to raise my chilren somewhere green and safe - we're currently living in a horrible part of London and this isn't what I want for them - they deserve better.

9. What room are you in? The living room. And my dad has just started snoring, haha!

10. Your hobby? Reading, writing, playing with my son, shopping, doing make up/ hair..

11. Your fear? Losing my kids. I can't even bear to think of my life without them.

12. Where do you want to be in 6 years? In the countryside/ by the coast with my little family, happy and healthy.

13. Where were you last night? Relaxing at home.

14. Something you aren't? A liar and a cheat. Never ever.

15. Muffins? Yes please! Right now I'd love a blueberry one :)

16. Wish list item? Ahh, too many things! I'd love a little spree in MAC actually! Some new eyeshadows and a msf would be lovely.

17. Where did you grow up? I've lived in the same house almost my whole life - it's in North London.

18. Last thing you did? Fixed the tear in my sons book and pulled a silly face at him ♥

19. What are you wearing? A purple maxi dress, black cami top and white flip flops with a clear stone in them.

20. Your TV? Is currently on Five USA - we love CSI and all those good shows!

21. Your pets? We've got a jack russell terrier but when we move we're going to get kitties :)

22. Your friends? Don't seem to be very interested in me since I had kids. Oh well.

23. Your life? Is amazing because of my babies ♥

24. Your mood? it's okay, but it's likely to take a downward turn soon - silly hormones!

25. Missing someone? Nobody living.. But I wish my grandad and aunt were still around.

26. Vehicle? My dad has a Vauxhall Zafira which I have named Winston! I love it, it's amazing for family days out.

27. Something you are wearing? Pink lipstick.

28. Your favorite brand? Possibly L'oreal, but I love Benefit and MAC when I have more cash :)

29. Your favorite color? Pink and teal.

30. When do you laugh? At all the wrong times, loudly. I'm silly.

31. Last time you cried? I feel like crying a lot, but then I just get angry, haha!

32. Your best friend? As soppy as this sounds, it's my son. He's my constant companion and makes me smile when nobody else can.

33. One place that I go over and over? Anywhere by the sea or in the countryside ♥

34. One person who emails me regularly? Nobody really! I prefer handwritten mail :)

35. Favorite place to eat? It used to be Chili's Bar and Grill, but since that left the UK (*wails*) it's probably Marine Ices.

Hello all! :)
I'm sorry it's been a while (once again, oops), but things have been really hectic here..
I went through a really poorly phase where I had an ear infection, a virus and awful hayfever!
And on top of that I've been going through some personal things (probably why I was so ill in the first place, I was really run-down), but things are settling down a bit now which I'm grateful for - I think the last thing you need when you're pregnant and hormonal is additional stress.

Anyway! So I had my 12 week pregnancy scan last month and it was dramatic to say the least!
The baby is a lot like Oliver was, in that he or she really didn't like being prodded or poked in the slightest and made it very difficult to see, and for the sonographer to get the measurements she needed!
We even saw the baby shaking its head from side to side with its hands up by its face as if to say "nooo!", haha - it was too cute.
Anyway, after a long time and lots of jumping around by me, we got this picture of my baby..

Everything looks okay so far so that's good, and I'm having another scan on the 11th of August so I can;t wait for that - hopefully we'll find out if we're having another boy or a girl this time too :)
I really don't mind, although everyone is convinced it's a girl.
My belly is getting rather round and it's happened a lot quicker this time..
Here is a pic from when I was just over 11 weeks pregnant (I'm 14 weeks preggy now and the bump hasn't really changed).

So, in other news..
I'm a strange girl, I'm slightly allergic to summer (and not just because of the hayfever!) - I always seem to feel weak and generally grotty in the heat and I think a lot of that is down to the fact that I burn really easily, and here in London we don't get nice breezes and the nice smells of summer that you might do in the countryside or by the sea.
So being sticky and breathing in hot pollution isn't fun, haha!
Because of that, I haven't been going out tons and so shopping has been put on the back burner :(

However, on Thursday my dad offered to take myself, Oli and my mum to Lakeside so I naturally jumped at the chance!
We hopped in the car and off we went :)
It was really nice, we had lunch at "Italian Kitchen" which was scrummy and I got Oli some lovely bits and pieces from the Disney Store, Primark and The Works ♥
We also went to Boots and I was in heaven, as they had so many more brands than they carry at my local Boots - I went on a mini splurge and got my mum a couple of treats too as she always thinks of me and Oli when she's out and treats us to things.
One of the things I got that I'm most excited about is an eyeshadow duo (that's no surprise really, I'm obssessed, haha) by Too Faced called "Lovey Dovey"

It's described as a sable brown and fawn shimmer, which I personally think makes it sound somewhat boring! But really it's not at all, and I love how these shadows look on the eye - I have a few of the Too Faced eyeshadows and the consistency and pigmentation of these little beauties make me keep going back for more (I've got my eyes on another as we speak!) :)
I also picked up a Shadow Insurance and because I spent over £20 I got a free gift, woohoo!
It was a little leopard print furry case with pink trim and inside was a mini Shadow Insurance, another eyeshadow duo in Totally Toasted and a mini Lash Injection mascara - bargain!
I actually think it's worth spending the money to get that little lot alone, haha :D

Amongst other things I really wanted to get my hands on the lipstick everyone's been talking about - the 17 Mirror Shine Lipstick in "Beehive" - I swatched it in the shop and loved how glossy it was and the pretty pinky nude shade so I grabbed it.
I also got an eyeshadow and because I had spent £6 I got yet another freebie!
This time it was a little box containing a travel kit - a nail polish, a lip gloss and a mini waterproof mascara, hooray..
The only downside to this was the fact that on the drive home my lipstick melted and when I tried to apply it, it broke off!
I have heard a few people saying this has happened to them so I don't feel quite as silly as I did at the time, but I'm not letting that little experience put me off and I will using it up and also will get another one as a back up, seeing as though they're so popular.

Another couple of things that are making me happy right now (as if I haven't waffled on for long enough!) are..

♥ Reading: I've always been a real bookworm and before I had Oliver my nose was always stuck in a book!
But my days are much busier now, so I don't get the chance to settle down and have a good read as often as I used to.
However, since I got pregnant again I've really felt the urge to get back in to it, so I bought a few new reads online and was so excited when they arrived!
Since then, whenever Oliver is napping and I haven't got anything important to do, I always try to sit down and read a chapter of something and it really settles me :)
A bit of escapism and education is good for the soul, haha..

♥ My laptop: I've had SO much drama with laptops in the past, I was convinced I would end up getting a desktop computer and that would be that.
But my other half convinced me that I should give the laptops one more chance and got me my current love, my hot pink Sony Vaio

Since I've had it, I've had no problems, no worries, it's been a little treasure, haha :D
I think part of the reason I love it so much is obviously the colour which just isn;t showing up in the pics I've taken of it *sigh*
It goes from an almost cherry shade, right to a pretty fuchsia colour and it's gorgeous!
I had been determined to get a more bubblegum pink one, but I'm glad I got this now.

Where have I been...?

Good question!

Some of you may already be aware of this news if you follow me on Twitter or are friends with me on Facebook, but I will repeat it here anyway for those of you who are none the wiser and interested :)

I found out a couple of weeks ago that I'm going to be a mummy again!
And I had a little bit of worry a week ago with regards to how the pregnancy is going (everything's fine now, as far as I know), so to be completely honest I haven't felt like I have anything relevant or important to write about in terms of beauty or shopping etc. - my mind has been full of babies and motherhood and not much else.

All I care about is my children and that they are okay; my babies are my number one priority (as they always have been and always will be).. ♥

The past few days have been hard and busy, as Oliver has decided that he is going through the "Terrible Twos" despite the fact that he is only 15 months old - my mum thinks he knows he is going to be a big brother and this is his chosen form of protest, haha :D

On top of all of this, we are also househunting right now, looking for the place that will be our first, owned family home.
Chances are, we won't move in fully until the new bubba is here because, quite frankly, I have made a huge song and dance about wanting the same midwife team I had with Oliver, and I won't get them any other way than staying where I am now a little longer.
I love those women! They understood everything I needed and wanting during my pregnancy and birth and once my son was born and they went on their way, I missed them all.
So we will hopefully buy the house and get it set up while I'm pregnant, then move in altogether once bubs is here :)

Exciting yes, but also quite stressful! We are hoping to move somewhere commuter friendly on the outskirts of London for Steves work, but what we want in a house does not come cheap on the commuter belt :(
It makes me so cross, seeing very average houses costing so very much purely because they're in a slightly better area in regards to travel.. Grr.

Anyway! So there is a lot to think about and do, it's a busy time for us.
I have a scan on the 23rd of June and everytime I think about it, my tummy flips and I feel sick, then I get this massive buzz of excitement - I just want everything to be okay so badly..
I don't know when my due date is or exactly how far along I am in my pregnancy because of my irregular cycles but my gp thinks I will be somewhere around 12 weeks by the time of the scan - we'll see!

I'll update here and post scan pics for anyone who wants to see or hear more :)
For now, here is a pic of my darling Olibear with my positive pregnancy result..

I think this blog is going to become a lot more personal in the coming months as obviously my life is changing now - clearly I still adore make up and discovering new lovely things so that will still feature here, don't get me wrong..
But it's going to be more of a mix here now, and I think that's a good thing :)

Okay so I wasn't directly tagged by anyone to do this post, but I've seen quite few peoples answers and I really wanted to do my own :) ♥

Recent eyeshadow purchases, with pictures

I recently went on a bit of a mad online shopping splurge and bought quite a few eye products! Whoops..

First of all we have 4 Benefit Velvet Eyeshadows, one of which I already had and loved so I was determined to get more!

I can't even put in to words how gorgeous these are - clockwise from top left: Fawn Over Me, Dandy Bandy, Leggy and Bikini Line.
The texture really is like velvet and I could happily use these every day and not get sick of them! They're so pretty.
I got mine on Ebay and I would strongly recommend it - you do get fakes when it comes to cosmetics but personally I've never had any trouble and all the products I've bought have been in perfect condition and at a bargain price to boot!

I also got some Too Faced eyeshdows:

This one is called Glamazon and it's a pretty golden taupe colour which is perfect for ladies like me who love the glitter!
It's quite fine glitter and you don't get that much fallout with it so it's one eyeshadow I really enjoy using.

These are Too Faced shadow duos in Totally Toasted and Poodle Puff - Totally Toasted is lovely and shimmery and great for a neutral eye (which I adore), and I am always reaching for Poodle Puff, especially the lighter colour as it is a gorgeous highlight on the brow and cheekbones ♥

This is my beloved Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/ Liner in Birthday Suit - this isn't majorly pigmented but it is gorgeous as a base for your eyeshadows - it's got a lovely shimmer to it and I reach for this tons.

This is a L'oreal Chrome Shine eyeshadow in Beige Shimmer that I actually bought in my local Superdrug and I know I say this about everything but I really do adore it!
Don't you just love finding new things to try? It makes me so happy ♥
This shadow looks lovely all over the lid or as a crease colour if you're going for a light eye look.
The texture is really soft and the pigmentation is amazing - I do love my drug store products I have to say :)

Long time no blog!! Long update with pics :)

I am so sorry it's been so long darlings, I feel really bad..
I'm a terrible blogger :( lol
I have managed to break my laptop once again - this time it was actually my fault as I was rushing to go get Oliver and managed to get half an earphone stuck as I was shutting it and it cracked the screen..
It's at the Acer Centre in Plymouth right now, and they want over £100 to fix it and return it to me, despite the fact that it's under warranty - I'm not a happy bunny!
Anyway, I'll pay it (grudgingly) and try my best to keep this cursed laptop living a while longer until I get my new pink Sony Vaio (squeee!! Far too excited about that) ♥

I have got a few things to write about, some of them personal and some of them beauty related so feel free to skip the bits you find boring :)

I'll get the personal stuff out of the way first.

I've got my dad living here with me - he's been here for the past month I think..
He quit his job when he was going through a horrible marriage break down, so he ended up losing his home.
I'm really glad he's here where I can keep an eye on him and I really enjoy his company too :)
He loves cooking so we've had some yummy meals together which is always a bonus!
I don't know how long he'll stay for but he is welcome to be here as long as he wants and needs to be.

Also, Steve and I are together and going strong - we're actually talking about having a Vegas wedding next year - crazy stuff!
I'm very aware that this is our last chance to make it work and for us and for Oliver, I really want it to..
It's looking really good so far, it's like a completely fresh new start for us :D

Ooh another thing I'd love to hear your opinions on is broodiness!
My son turned a year old on the 21st of Feb and already I'm cooing over other babies and pregnant women, wondering what it would be like for Oliver to have a little brother or sister to play with - it's mad and not entirely rational I know.
So all you gorgeous yummy mummies out there - after you had your first child, did you really miss being pregnant even though you were over the moon to have your baby with you to love?
And did you feel broody soon afterwards, or were you content with just the one baby for the time being?
I think it might just be me - I adore kids, always have and always will :)
Would be great to hear other ladies opinions though so please leave me a comment and tell me your view!

Talking of babies, Oliver is amazing me more and more by the day - his speech is really coming along and he is such a sociable little boy, he loves chatting away and smiling at new people!
He's never been a particularly clingy baby and he will go to practically anyone for a cuddle or to play - it makes me so proud.
He's been suffering with teething, that's been the only downer..
It's hard seeing him in pain and miserable but I've been giving him Calpol and it seems to help a bit.
His daddy was away for nearly 3 weeks visiting family in the Philippines and when he came back it was like all Olivers sadness just evaporated, haha!
Bless him, he didn't let his dad out of his sight for the next week!
Oli has really started enjoying cruising around furniture now and he will happily walk alongside me if I hold one of his hands for support - I'm hoping it won't be too long before he's walking independently but I know he'll do it in his own time when he is ready :)

Now, on to some beauty stuff!

Firstly, I have dyed my hair and I really love it :D
I used one of the schwarzkopf Palette dyes in Ruby Red and I'm so happy with how it came out - my hair was quite dark to begin with so I wasn't expecting the red to be very vibrant but it's taken really well!

I haven't dyed my hair this sort of colour since I was in my late teens probably, so it's taking some getting used to but I think it'll stay like this for quite some time - I was considering dying it black again but I'm more than happy to have it red for now - infact I'm actually considering getting another box of dye and using it soon to get a more intense colour..
Do you think I should? :)

Another thing that has made me happy is MAC doing free delivery a couple of times since I last blogged, haha! ♥
I don't go mad and buy loads, but the things I have got are gorgeous and I'm so glad I did get them.
I have bought Satin Taupe, Antiqued and Tempting (I already had Amber Lights and Naked Lunch) and the first week or so I had them I used them almost every day, I love them so much ♥
I also got a paintpot in Soft Ochre - that's another product that's now got a dent in it, as I find not many eye primers work on my somewhat oily eyelids (yuk!) so this has made an amazing base for all my eyeshadows, or even on its own on those lazy days with just a flick of black liquid eyeliner :)
The last MAC product I bought was Creme Cup lipstick. I already had Lovelorn which I'm crazy about and will definitely be buying a back-up of!
Creme Cup is a stunning pink nude and I love wearing it with a smokey eye.
I also love that smell that MAC lipsticks have - it's a gorgeous vanilla scent - yum.
What are your favourite MAC products? I hope they do free delivery again soon, haha!

I've noticed that I'm using a lot of nude and pink lip products lately - maybe I'll be more daring with more striking colours in the summer!
Some that I've been loving recently are the Barry M lipstick in 100, elf "Runway Pink", Natural Collections "Apple Blossom" and the Maybelline Color Sensational in "Pink Pearl"..

I often use the Apple Blossom to nude out my lips before using a gloss or another lipstick as my lips are quite dark naturally - and I think it's only £1.95 so really you can't go wrong! The consistency is gorgeous; really creamy with a nice sheen to it :)
Pink Frost looks lush when paired with a pink sparkly lip gloss I have by Avon - very Barbie-ish! ♥
The elf lipstick was one I actually wasn't particularly keen on when I got it, but after experimenting with some different glosses layered over it I keep reaching for it now.
Barry M 100 is a real pale bubblegum pink and I love this with a raspberry coloured gloss over the top for a more wearable look.

Face products I grab on a daily basis change all the time, but right now to of my faves are the elf blush in "Peachy Keen" and Collection 2000 Shimmer and shade in "Pink Me Up"..

The blush is a really similar colour to the background shade in the collection 2000 product and I didn't realise until I literally just posted that photo, haha!
However, I love them both and I'm glad I have them in my make up stash - now spring is here and summer is on its way, I love wearing peachy blush on my cheeks with a good shimmery highlight on my cheekbones :)

fotd, mums make up, new hair &mini haul!

Hi lovelies!
First of all, I'm sorry this post is a bit delayed - was going to finish and put it up Monday but I've had a lot of personal issues going on and I haven't had the time or drive to do it..
Better late than never though, as I always say!
Anyway, let's get on with it ♥

FOTD:

I used some more of the new Playboy Cosmetics I wrote about :)
This time I used the "Primped and Proper" eyeshadow duo - I put the darker colour all over the lid and the lighter colour on the browbone and inner corner.
For blush I used "Nymphette" which comes out such a nice colour - maybe it's just because of my skintone, but it seemed quite different to how it looks in the container.
On the lips I used the lighter end of "Pinky Pout" lipliner, then the "Playboy Pink" lipgloss.
I really like this gloss as the colour payoff is great, yet it's not sticky at all..
And when used with the lipliner it really stayed put!

You can also see my new hair colour in the top pic!
I will try and take a better picture today or tomorrow though as I know it doesn't show up very strongly here.
I used the Garnier Morello Cherry Deep red and I really like it!
I used to dye my hair a similar colour when I was in my teens so it's pretty weird having it like this again, haha!
It's not far off my natural colour to be honest, just more of a richer red and less brown to it.

Mums make up!:

Mum bought some new make up while we were out shopping on Friday, so I said I'd do her make up for her on Saturday :)
She's been asking me to do this for a while now because she gets bored of using the same techniques and felt like a change.
I kept it pretty simple because she wanted something that wasn't too striking while she was out running errands and walking the dog.
I used pinks and lilacs on the eyes and her new Prestige Skin Loving Minerals Fresh Glow Baked Mineral blushes - the pink one of the apples of the cheeks and the peachy one as a highlight.
After using these I have to say I am so tempted to get some - they're gorgeous!
And at Boots it's £2 off some of the Prestige line so it's a good time to go and get a bargain :D
On Mums lips we just used a midtone pink lipstick with gloss over the top which is her fave.

So as I mentioned, I went shopping on Friday and amongst the things I picked up were these little goodies..

We have Clearasil Stayclear Tinted Treatment Cream, Collection 2000 Hot Looks Fast Dry Nail Polishes in BMX Bandit (blue) and Dynasty (pinky lilac), Prestige Skin Loving Minerals Baked Shadow Quad in Bijou and Sally Hansen Cornsilk Shine Control Classic Translucent Pressed Powder.

I asked for the Benefit Powderflage for my birthday, so I'm looking forward to comparing that and the powder I got here - I use it under the eyes to set my concealer and it really brightens up the area :)

The only other thing I've tried so far is the blue nail polish - I love the colour as it's really different to anything else in my collection but I have to say the staying power isn't excellent which I guess you'd expect as it's only £1.75 a bottle..
I put a good base coat on, 2 coats of the polish then a top coat and it was starting to chip a day later!
Nevermind, it's still pretty so I will carry on using it.
I haven't tried the lilacy colour yet but I really want to as I've heard quite a few ladies saying they like it!

I'm off shopping again tomorrow because I need to get some new clothes and things for Oliver (he's getting huge!) as well as start looking for the birthday cake I want to get him - he's turning one on the 21st and we're having a little party with family, so that should be interesting!
Anyway, if I get anything for myself that I think you lovelies might be interested in seeing, I'll do another blog post at the weekend, providing nothing else happens with my family :)

Playboy Cosmetics FOTD and hair update!

Today I used some of the products featured in my previous blog post and I thought I weould show you how it turned out :) ♥

For blush I used "Peach Bunny" and on my eyes I used "After Hours" and "Party".
After applying an eye primer, I took the "Party" duo and used the pink colour all over the lid with the taupe in the outer v and crease area.
I then took the shimmery white colour from "After Hours" and put that on the browbone and inner corner.
Simple! but quite pretty for an everyday look I thought.
I will do a different eye on Saturday and use one of the Playboy lip glosses as well so you can see what they're like :)
Anyway! I hope you this has been helpful or enjoyable in some sort of way, haha!

As for my hair - I have let it go back to its natural colour and I'm planning on dying it on Saturday using one of the Garnier hair dyes from the Cherry Collection.
My hair was also getting long and heavy so I cut it today (I always cut my own hair - hairdresser phobia much!) and chopped quite a bit of the length off - it's so much quicker to wash and dry which comes in really handy because I'm always running around with my son.
It's still got some layers in it and it's not too short (short hair does not suit me at all!) so I'm happy with it for now.
My hair grows really quick so once some of the length has come back I think I might try and face my hairdresser phobia because I want to try getting long layers and a side fringe :)

Playboy Cosmetics.. Yes, really!

My Mum came home from her usual weekly food shop with a smirk on her face and when I asked her why, she said she had bought some make up for me and it was only £1 per item as it was all on sale..
I was instantly suspicious and I admit, I expected really awful stuff to appear from her shopping bags that I would never ever wear!
When she started unpacking it I started laughing - Playboy, really?!
But you know what, it's not half bad.

Once you get over the shock of the hot pink and silver packaging and actually look at the products, you forget all about the brand.
I don't know how much the products normally retail at, but for £1 I honestly can't complain about anything I got.

Now, first of all, these pictures were taken on my phones camera so the way the colours of the products appear aren't completely spot on - near, but not perfect.
So here are some descriptions; skip this bit if you like lovelies :) ♥

♠ "After Hours" eyeshadow has a white and a dark grey blue, both with shimmer.
♠ "Primped and Proper" has a matte light peach and a shimmery peachy pink colour.
♠ "Hollywood Nights" has a matte pinky lilac and a shimmery midtone brown.
♠ And "Party" has a midtone pink and a taupe kind of colour, both with shimmer.
All powder products have fairly good pigmentation and are so smooth to apply - they feel very velvety.
♠ The "Bikini Martini" lip gloss has quite thick consistency, is a plumy pink colour and has small shimmers in - the smell isn't great but it isn't noticable once applied :) "Hefs Favourite" is more of a hot pink colour with a more liquidy consistency and has a slightly sweet, candy-ish smell to it which I personally like but I know some people don't.
♠ The lipliners are really good as they have two colours in each one - one darker and one lighter end. So if you own lipsticks in the same colour range but they're in different shades, these things come in handy! The only aspect I feel needs noting here is that the pink one is quite deep in colour on both ends, so perhaps this wouldn't be suitable to combine with a paler pink lipstick.

I remember my seeing the Playboy Cosmetics range in a big sale in Superdrug maybe a year or two ago at a similar time, so it's always worth keeping an eye out if you miss out once - you might get the chance to grab a bargain again :D

I'm really happy with all of the products I got, especially as they were only £1 each, and this experience has really taught me not to be such a make up snob!
Honestly, I wouldn't have even looked at this stuff before my Mum bought it home because I always assumed that the quality would be pretty bad but I have found that the products I have tried are all fairly long lasting, apply really nicely and the pigmentation of the colours is good - so I really have very little to complain about!
Next time I'm out shopping and I see make up on sale, I won't be so quick to judge and will have a quick swatching session before I make my mind up!

1] I have a son called Oliver who was born on the 21st of February 2009, 4 days after my 25th birthday :)
He is so precious to me, especially as I didn't think I could have babies!

2] I went through a bit of a goth phase in my teens; when I look back I cringe but I think it's all part of growing older - we all go through different styles..

3] When I was little I wanted to either work with children or animals - I developed allergies to animal fur which prevented me doing that line of work so I ended up working in nurseries and schools which I loved..

4] I'm in love with Japan and it's style, food, art, practically everything!
Along with Canada it's near the top of my list for places to go to..

5] I have lived in North London all my life but it has never felt like home..
One day I am determined to live in the countryside with the coast nearby, because that is the only kind of place where I have truly felt myself - I'm just not suited to city life!

6] I love old things.. Whenever I look at a black and white photo, read an old book and hold a vintage item I always wonder about the people who owned it before and what they might have been like - I love stories and finding out more about peoples lives..

7] I love tattoos, piercings and burlesque! So far I only have one tattoo on my back but I plan on having at least two more.
I have the top of my left ear pierced and a labret which I love, and I am sad to say I haven't been to a burlesque show yet but I am planning on going to one this year, it looks like so much fun! :)

I love filling out surveys and the fact that it's a girls one made it appeal even more, haha! ♥

Very sweet.. I like little romantic gestures like that.

2. A big poofy dress or a short party dress?
I've never worn a poofy dress! And I don't really wear short ones to be honest, I like wearing dresses that come either just above or just below the knee :)

3. What would you do if you received a long love letter?
I'd be very surprised!

4. Group dates or single dates?
Single, purely because I like one on one time on dates.. Going out with a group is nice too though :)

5. Do you hate it when guys act different around their friends?
If it means they're dismissive towards me, then yes, I can't stand it!
I think it's only really immature insecure guys do that though, because it shows they can't be themselves for the fear of what others might think.

6. Are diamonds a girl's best friend?
Diamonds are lovely but I can think of lots of other things I like a lot more!

7. Is your hair up or down?
It's up because it was annoying me when it was down, haha..

8. Do you straighten your hair?
Very rarely, I don't really have the time to most days. Plus I like to use as little heat on my hair as possible!

9. Whats your favorite girly magazine?
I like all the gossip ones like Heat, and I love In Style and Elle etc. for all the fashion and beauty.. I'm a bit addicted to magazines!

L'oreal Voluminous, I adore it

I always do them myself :)

Large, always!

Hello once again lovelies :)
Oliver went out with his Dad today so I got the chance to settle down and have a proper look at one of my latest beauty bargains, the nyx eyeshadow palette in Champagne and Caviar.
I adore this palette and there isn't one colour in there that won't be lovingly used!
I also got the Catwalk palette which I love equally and will no doubt make an appearance on my blog soon ♥
So here is a peek at the simple but pretty look I did (don't forget to click to enlarge the images)..
But please be forgiving of how tired I look, this is what lack of sleep does to a girl! lol

And here is what I used..

After I did that I just added my usual black winged liquid eyeliner by Bourjois and black voluminous carbon black mascara by L'oreal :)
I'm a creature of habit, what can I say!

Also definitely worth a mention is this lipstick..

It's the Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipstick in Crystal Baby and I looove it - as I'm sure you must know by now, I am a huge nude lip fan (as many of you ladies are) but it's not just the colour that has won me over; the consistency of this is gorgeous, it glides on, is creamy but not too thick and it feels so moisturising!
Gotta love Estee Lauder, they never fail to please :)

So that's that, but as for future posts..
I will do a general update one as it is long overdue, plus a "collective haul" type of post sharing some of my most recent buys with you.

Monday quizzy thing!

Okay, so I am half asleep and don't currently have the brain power to do anything that isn't simple, and I found this post on the gorgeous Talluluh Bellas blog (http://talluluhbella.wordpress.com)..
Its just a little monday survey and seeing as though I love reading them so much I thought I would do my own :)
So here it is! ♥

1. Mood: I'm okay. Could be better, but could be so much worse! :)

2. What’s your favorite body lotion at the moment? I am still loving the Handlucious Honey Almond Hand Lotion - I use this all over and it not only makes you smell gorgeous, it makes your skin silky smooth too, yay ♥

3. Yay or nay for ankle booties? Unfortunately I have quite small feet in comparison to my height (size 6 feet and I'm 5'10) so anything like that just seems to emphasise this!
They do look lush on other people though.
So nay for me, yay for them!

4. Are you a creative person? I used to be! The thoughts and intentions are still there but I have no time to fit it in right now, so I'm hoping it's one of those things that doesn't fade if you don't keep up with it.

5. Eyes/lips/cheeks: I'm wearing the Collection 2000 trio in "Ametrine" with Bourjois volume clubbing eyeliner and Maybelline Colossal mascara.. YSL rouge volupte number 1 with Revlon le chic peach lipgloss and a random Colourworks blusher that my Nana bought me :) A real mix of products!

6. Any beauty items on your wish list? Oh always, tons! I'm going to get my Per Una "Sherbert" lipstick right soon, that will make me happy.

7. How did you sleep? Once I actually got to sleep (!) I slept very well.

8. What are your plans for the holidays? Eat, drink and be merry! This will be my sons first Christmas and I'm so excited :)

9. Outfit: H&M red white and navy blue vest top with a swallow and star design, black lounge trousers and leopard print slipper boots.

10. Weekly goals: Get my Christmas shopping done, that's my most important goal ♥

Long overdue post!

I am so sorry I haven't been posting!
Life is hectic right now and I won't even begin to explain it all..
I will just say that a lot of it is family problems with a bit of relationship drama thrown in, plus my son has just cut his first tooth (finally!! at last!) so he's not been the happiest bunny lately either.

To be quite honest the last thing I've felt like doing when I've had spare time is blogging so I've been immersing myself in books.
I am a complete bookwork, at least I was before my son was born - I don't have as much time as I used to now, and although I wouldn't swap my precious baby boy for the world, I admit I have missed my reading!
Along with reading other books, I have now jumped on the whole Twilight bandwagon and I bought the first three books in one go - I am on the third one now (Eclipse) and I have to say I am loving them!
They are so addicitive :)
So needless to say, the fourth book is on my Dear Santa.. list <3
I watched the Twilight film and I wasn't impressed - I thought it really let the book down as the acting wasn't believable and I didn't feel I could connect with any of the chracters :(
Having said that, I still plan on seeing "New Moon", haha!
I am silly.

Also, when I've had the chance I've been heading out to the shops to pick myself and Oliver up some treats - yes, I am a shopaholic, guilty as charged I'm afraid.
I have been taking pictures of the things I thought might interest readers of this blog (I am grateful to you girls!) so I will be posting pictures of them all in time - for now here is one of a few bits I'm loving..

Okay, so we have a Nails Inc nailpolish I got free with In Style magazine (love the freebies, yay) - I am a fan of nude coloured polishes so I have been reaching for this quite often.
It dries quite quickly which is good for when you're running around with kids and don't have time for a proper manicure and lasts a good few days with no chipping.
Benefit Erase Paste is something I have been wanting for ages and for some bizarre reason I only got my hands on it a few weeks ago!
All the hype I've heard about it is true in my opinion; my "sleepless night" eyes seriously need some hefty concealing and this product certainly does the job for me ♥
Then we have the Mini Bourjois 3D Effet lip gloss - I actually can't find a name on the container but never mind - it's basically a peachy pinky colour and I adore it!
I love little mini products you can just chuck in your handbag/ baby changing bag and they don't take up much room so this sort of thing is ideal for me - I adore the colour of it too, it's natural but fresh looking.
I've been using it with this Rimmel lipstick in "Foxy" - I don't know how this has lipstick has escaped me until now! It's gorrrrgeous.
It's a lip plumping product so it does make your lips tingle but it's not painful and the effect is slight - no crazy trout pout for me :)
The Rimmel nailpolish in "Rose Libertine" is perfect for toes or on fingernails if you're going out - it's a bright peachy coraly colour and I really love this - it dries quickly and lasts well, plus Rimmel products won't break the bank either.

So in other news, Oliver turned 9 months on the 21st of November - I felt very wistful that day and said to him "9 months in mummas tummy, and now 9 months in the big world!" :) ♥
I felt so proud of him - he's such a fierce little character; very independent, willful, loves to chatter and move about all the time, he adores songs and stories, will happily smile and go to anybody..
He's my precious little angel and I honestly couldn't love him more if I tried..

Okay so I will be posting again soon with more of a proper update and more pics of pretty new things, promise :)
Hopefully come new year I won't have to make a resolution to try harder with this blog!

Okay so this isn't going to be the most cheerful post but I hope those of you who read it will bear with me..

Basically I have been having trouble in my relationship and we have come to the decision to have a break to see if we can sort things out :(
I haven't told anyone except from my mum and a close friend so it's a big deal to even be writing this for me.
I'm hoping that given time, we can figure out where we went wrong and give things another go but you never know what is going to happen in life so I don't want to get my hopes up.
I just know that for our sakes and most of all for Olivers sake, we could not continue to have such an unhealthy relationship.

I am so lucky to have a supportive network of people who I know will be there for me through the tough times.
And I'm also glad Christmas is on the way so I have a time to look forward to and prepare for - some sort of focus apart from Oliver..
I want to make things magical for him, give him a wonderful time no matter what.
I was looking round the shops today with him and my mum and i was smiling, thinking of Christmas day and seeing his little face ♥

On the subject of shopping, I will be making a post soon about recent buys and loves.
I am hoping I will be able to make more use of this blog now, i know I have to keep busy and keep my mind occupied.
It's okay when Oliver is up, I am completely engrossed in him and what he needs but once he is in bed at night that is the lonely time when my mind wanders, so I will be probably mostly be doing late night blogging :)

Anyway, I'm sorry this was a bit crappy but I just wanted people (if anyone reads this, haha) to know where I have been.

Product Rave and Update..

If anybody actually reads this I mean, haha!
You will have to excuse me if I ramble a bit in this post; I have been doing the housework and rushing around like a mad woman all day so I am a bit hyper..

I just wanted to give you a little update and talk about a product that has received a lot of attention already, but I wanted to just add my opinion to the mix.

The product is the L'oreal Studio Secrets Smoothing Resurfacing Primer and I really love it!

♥ So the website says:

"A VELVET TOUCH IN RECORD TIME

Inspired by professional make-up, this primer masks wrinkles and uneven textures in the skin, making the complexion incredibly smooth with a velvety touch. Skin feels soft as if resurfaced.
Apply the Smoothing Resurfacing Primer on shadowy areas such as under the eye, and on the least smooth areas: the forehead, the sides of the nostrils and around the mouth, to stop lipstick from running.
Apply in little dabs, always smoothing the primer from the inside to the outside of the face (so as to avoid any tide-marks on the edges of the face).

The high elastomer content in the Smoothing Primer means that it has a beautifully smooth texture and is incredibly effective at disguising wrinkles and pores. The combination of soft, light powders gives a matte look and a silky finish.

♥ I had been meaning to get a primer for quite some time now but I never knew which one to try..
The ones I had looked at all seemed to be expensive and I was worried I wouldn't even make the right choice - at those sorts of prices it just wasn't worth it for me.
I have some open pores around my nose and my skin is far from flawless in general, so when I heard about this primer I thought I would go and try it out in the shop.
I wasn't brave enough to actually put it on my face (testers are ikky) so I put some on my hand, and it was so silky and really evened my skin tone and texture out; I was impressed to say the least!
When I saw the price (£12.99) I though it was quite steep for a small pot (15ml), so I didn't get it that day.
But when I was out shopping a few days later I saw it on special offer in Superdrug for £9.99, and that's when I caved in, haha!
I actually didn't try it out for a few days as I was at home busy and had no time, but when I did give it a go I was smitten.
It evens out my skin and gives it such a soft feel.
I also notice that it does a pretty good job at hiding my pores which have always been noticable to me; my skin generally seems significantly smoother which is great.
A little of this product does go a long way and I only use it a couple of times a week anyway because I don't often wear a full face of make up now, so I have high hopes of my lovely little pot lasting me quite a while :D

So that's that.
In other news, I am on a diet!
The mother in law accused me of being pregnant again so I know I have to do something to shift my 'Mummy tummy'.
I have been in my own little Oliver bubble and thoughts of working out and cramming in lots of veggies had escaped my head to be honest.
But that comment really hurt and now I am being super strict about what I eat.
I know that I am not going to work out tons because to put it quite simply - I would rather spend my time focusing on my son; after all, that is why I don't have a job right now.
But on a day like today where Oliver is out with his Dad and I have free time, I know I can fit in a lengthy Nintendo Wii Fit session, yay :D
I actually love it, it's soooo addictive ♥
My Mum said she will watch Oliver for me when she isn't too busy so I can do my exercise which is good of her.
I have to say, the diet is a bit crap..
I'm not eating much and what I do eat is so bland, so I am going to look up some healthy recipies and have a good think about what I need to get from the shops to cook with.

Hmm, what else..
Oliver will be 7 months old in a couple of days (the 21st) and I honestly cannot believe it - he is growing up too fast!
He says "Umma" and "Ummeeeee!" now which is adorable..
Still no Dada which angers Ste no end!
Oliver is getting super active now, and wants me to hold his hands all the time while he toddles around which makes my heart melt.
As far as crawling goes, he isn't keen!
He will roll on to his tummy, tuck his legs up and push himself up with his arms, rock about a bit then that's it, he's bored!
I honestly think he will skip crawling and just walk when he is ready.
He can shuffle around on his tummy just fine if he has to, but he prefers walking! :D
I am going to buy him a walk along toy that he can push and hold on to, can't wait to see him with that ♥
He is doing really well with his weaning, he'll sometimes have a breakfast or lunch, he eats a good dinner and dessert, he has rice cakes, fruit, veggies, all sorts to snack on - it's so sweet to see him munching away!
He is teething and a bit miserable because of it, but bearing up well really.

Last weekend..

As I mentioned in my previous post, last weekend my Dad came to stay.
Whenever he comes round we make some really awesome food and this weekend was no different!
On Saturday we had a pot roast chicken with looooads of veg and some fresh walnut bread - it was delicious!

Clearly I enjoy my food, I ate it all! Haha ♥

Sunday we had beef wellington with more veggies and roasties, with a really yummy homemade gravy - my battery on my camera died so alas, I have no pics :(

So beef wellington looks like this, but we had our meat more well done as I am super fussy about stuff like that :p

I'm convinced my Dad should be a chef as he has a real passion for cooking and always wants to try new things..
I hope one day he has the money to start up a little place where he can make peoples tummies happy with his scrummy dishes! ♥

In other news, my son Oliver went in his paddling pool for the first time on Tuesday and it was SO adorable to see - he loved it!

My weekend so far..

My last couple of posts have been purely make up related, so I thought I would do a more personal chit-chat type one tonight :)

My Dad lives in Essex and only comes down to stay a weekend in every month, and he came down on Friday evening.
I was so happy to see him, and Oliver grinned as soon as he saw his Grandad ♥
It was adorable. They are real playmates!
Always laughing and tumbling around..

Friday night we had an Indian takeaway, some wine and just chatted loads, it was lovely.
We stayed up late laughing and before I knew it was nearly one am! :o
So I staggered off to bed and left Dad on the sofa to crash out.

Today has been lovely - lots more chats, laughs, getting hysterical over The X Factor, drinking the rest of our wine, and Dad made us a delicious pot roast chicken with loads of veggies and fresh walnut bread - yummm!
He is quite the chef.
Tomorrow he is making beef wellington which I am really looking forward to as I've never had it before.

Oliver always gets really cheeky and noisey when his Grandad is here, and this weekend has been no different - today while he was having his dinner he decided to start grinning and blowing the loudest rasberries at his Grandaddy!
My Dad couldn't stop laughing and the pair of them were doing that for aaaages!
In the end I couldn't help laughing too, and we all ended up with tears in our eyes - Oliver is such a little showman and always has us in stitches.

I always feel a little bit sad about how fast the weekend goes by when my Dad is here - it's true what they say; time really does fly when you're having fun :(
I will be glad when he gets a car, as he will be able to get here a lot more often and we have lots of little trips planned! :)

We are also talking about all going for a family holiday some time early next year which I am really looking forward to - my Dad and I have been through a lot and I just feel so blessed that our Father-Daughter relationship is now more solid and loving than ever ♥

I also feel incredibly proud of how my parents have maintained a relationship of sorts - they are firm friends and the three of us chat and laugh away, despite them being divorced.
As I type this my Mum is serving Dad some fruit cake and has just given him a cuppa!
I think it's lovely and so mature of them.
It makes life so much nicer for me and Oliver.

Ooh, talking of family, on Friday my Mum and I went to do some food shopping for the weekend, and we ended up looking in a store in Enfield Town called "Pearsons"..
It is so old fashioned but they have some lovely make up counters with really nice, easy-going staff who let you swatch and chat away without hassling you (thank goodness, I hate feeling pressured when I'm browsing!)..
We looked at Dior, Chanel, YSL, Clarins, Benefit, all sorts.
I was very restrained and didn't buy anything this time, although I was very tempted!
I saw quite a few things that made me swoon, I have to admit :)
I am determined to get my hands on the Benefit eyeshadow in "Leggy" - I swatched it (twice now, why haven't I bought it yet?!) and feel in love - the shimmer and velvety finish is just pinky perfection.
Some of the other shades were very tempting too but that was the one that really stood out as a must-have for me.

I also keep looking at the YSL lip glosses and there is one called "Golden Whisper" - it looks almost white in the tube with a lot of shimmer, and the way it sparkles just reminds me of diamonds :)
So beautiful.

The other YSL product that got my attention was this eyeshadow quad in "Nude"..

So lush!!

Anyway, I think that's it for now..

My Make Up Storage :)

Hello again all, I hope you are all well and happy! ♥

I have a little bit of time to myself as Oliver is napping, so today I thought I would do a post about my make up storage - I have seen quite a few YouTube vids and various blogs about this subject and I'm always fascinated by them, so I thought I'd join in :)
My storage is pretty basic and not the most organised solution, but for now it suits me and it'll do.

So let's crack on :D

Here is a pic of my storage.
I bought the drawer sets and see-through containers from Poundland of all places!
You should know by now I love my pink things, so these suit me perfectly.

This is the top of the left hand set of drawers - there is a Boots make up bag containing my various foundations, then in front of that is a Marilyn Monroe make up bag I got free when I ordered from http://www.beautyspotcosmetics.co.uk :D yay!
This holds my make up brushes and my mirror, tweezers, things like that.
Then right at the front is my Eyeko Tinted Cream, a Too Faced Glitter and a Revlon Sugar Sugar Lip Topping ♥

On the other side are containers holding all my lipsticks and lip glosses - I have WAY too many but what can I say, I'm an addict >.<

Then here we have the 1st drawer in the left hand stack.
This holds my concealers and various powders.
You can see my trusty Boi-ing Benefit concealer here, love the stuff!

The second drawer holds my blush and highlighting products - I have all sorts in here; Bourjois, Avon, Maybelline, 2True, No7. Me Me Me..
I love this drawer, I am slightly addicted to trying out different things!

Third drawer down holds my lip prep products - I have all sorts of lip balms in here, I am willing to admit I may have too many :p
This drawer also holds my Witch Sticks and I adoooore them - anytime I have a spot I apply this product and it drys and heals them up a treat - magic!

Fourth drawer is eyeshadows.
Again, it's quite a mix with producs from Bourjois, Pout, L'oreal, Jane, Rimmel and more.

The fifth drawer might actually be my favourite :)
It is packed with Barry M Dazzle Dusts and fine Glitters, eye primer and eyeshadow sticks from GOSH, Mini Bourjois eyeshadow powders - all sorts! ♥

Sixth drawer is eyeshadows again..
More Rimmel, Bourjois, some Urban Decay, Chili Pepper cream and powder eyeshadows, FCUK, L'oreal and more.

The top drawer on the right hand stack mostly has random eyeshadow palettes in it, as well as a couple of Too Faced products - I love the one on top best; The Little Pink Book ♥

Second drawer is for my Sleek palettes, my Bourjois Ombre Stretch Eyeshadow, and a H&M eyeshadow palette my friend Alina bought me :)

The third drawer holds assorted eyeliners (both liquid and khol), a pot of Barry M Glitter, some Spectacular glitter (yes, I like my sparkles!) and Revlon Vital Radiance cream eyeshadows.

The bottom two drawers are empty right now as I still have some other products to organise, so this is the last drawer..
Number 4 holds my mascaras, nearly all of which are almost empty or are drying out :(
Oh well, more shopping! ♥ Haha :D
I always use volumising mascaras and I reaaaally hope the L'oreal Voluminous isn't being discontinued which I have heard is true :(
If they do discontinue it, I think there will be such an outcry from all its fans that they will have to bring it back!

Once I have sorted out the other two drawers that are empty I will do an update.

Hello again all! A couple of things, pics..

So I know it's been a while, but to make up for my absence I've got quite a few posts planned :)

This one is going to be about some lush new things I've bought recently and I'll be telling you all about them, plus I've been experimenting with some lip combinations so I will be showing you those too ♥

I've been going through a bit of a tough time lately and as a result, I think I've been doing a little more retail therapy than usual, haha..
But I can't complain, as I have got some new products that I love to bits.

The first thing is a moisturiser that I have really gone crazy about - I am going to buy back-ups because I am scared I'll run out of it!
It's the Beautifully delicious handlucious honey and almond hand lotion with honey and sweet almond oil for normal to dry skin - what a mouthful :D

I was wandering through Boots looking for a cleanser that my Mum had asked me to pick up for her when I saw this..
Now, I may have mentioned before that I adore sweet smelling products, especially ones with vanilla, honey and yummy things like that in them, so when I saw this lotion I grabbed it and sniffed it, and oh my goodness it is gorgeous..
The scent isn't overpowering at all but it leaves a nice light smell on the skin and it sinks in quickly too which is great as I really hate it when you end up with a greasy feeling for ages.
If you see this and you like the smell, do give it a go because it's inexpensive, comes in a nice big tube and makes you smell divine!

Now on to the next thing..
I have an Elizabeth Arden High Shine Lip Gloss in "Shimmering Pink" and I love it lots so I decided to try another colour :)
The one I liked the best was "Pink Champagne"

I love this gloss! I'm mad about lip products anyway but I have been wearing this so much since I got it.
It looks really pretty, especially for summer ♥
It's not too sticky and it doesn't have too much sparkle in it, just a nice amount of shimmer.

Now as I was going to pay I saw that Elizabeth Arden had a reduced area so I had to have a look - bad girl that I am, I should have just ignored it!
I saw the Sun Goddess Bronzing Powder and I had been wanting to try it, so of course I got that as well - oops.

I think the packaging is so pretty, it's probably part of the reason I was so drawn to it!
And I adore the brush - it's so fluffy and soft and I've also used it for blush and powder and it works so well - I'm so glad it came with the bronzer.
As for the bronzer itself, it's gorgeous.
It's got a lighter part which gives a nice shimmer but it's not glittery at all.
I use this bronzer for contouring as I have crazily pale skin and it looks gorgeous, I am in love!

Now, despite this little spending splurge, I have actually been going through all my make up and making an effort to use things I have neglected.
I found a couple of lipsticks that I never really wear - the first one being a Boots No7 Moisture Drench in Sugar Plum - it's just too much of a dark brown-ish colour for me to carry off.
It came as part of a gift set and I was thinking about whether I wanted to sell it or give it away when my eyes went to a lipgloss that had also been used very little..
Maybelline Wet Shine Diamonds Liquid in Plum Solitaire :)

I applied the lipstick using my finger and then dabbed the gloss over the top and I really liked the outcome!
This gave a much pinker look to it and I thought it was really pretty.
This inspired me to try out some other combinations using lip products I had forgotten about and next up was my Barry M Lip Paint in number 52, and a lip gloss by the same brand in number 27.

The gloss made the colour of the lipstick so much milkier and I think it looks great - I will definitely wear it now!

My Most Worn..

Okay, so the lovely Zoella (http://schoee.blogspot.com) created a post where you don't talk about your favourites, as they change all the time, you talk about the things that you have worn and used the most - this looked like fun so I thought that I would get involved! :D

First is-

1] Lipstick:

I have two here - both pink shades (no surprises there!) - the one on the left is a Maybelline Watershine in "Juicy Bubblegum", and the one on the right is a Rimmel Lasting Finish in "Pink Champagne".
I have back-ups of both and I never let myself run out, I always come back to these two ♥

2] Earrings:

My Fiance bought me these from Accessorize and I am hardly ever seen without them - they're so gorgeous!
Anyone who knows me will say I adore sparkly things and the teal colour of these earrings is something else that I really love about them ♥

3] Dress/ Top:

My most worn dress is this summery floaty one from Primark - it only cost me about £10 and I have had it for about 2 years or more now - the print is so cute! ♥

And my most worn top is also from Primark and is this ruffle-fronted one.
I also have two more of these, one in hot pink and one in coral - that's how much I wear these things, haha ♥

4] Nail Polish:

If I am in a rush and I can't be bothered to apply a real colour, I tend to grab the Sally Hansen French Manicure Kit and I'll use the "Sheerly Opal" polish seen here in the right side of the pack - it just gives such a lovely sheen to the nails, with the slightest lilac/ pink tint - I love it.
My most used colour is the Rimmel 60 Seconds polish in "Portabello Pink" - I think I'm on my third bottle now!
It's so bright and yet it's still very wearable - perfect ♥

5] Shoes:

I think I have a Primark addiction, haha!
These leopard print flats are so comfy and I always grab these when I'm running around with my son or shopping - and they only cost me about £5, yay! ♥

6] Hair Product:

Without a doubt it's the Pantene Pro V Ice Shine Hair Spray - I use this almost every day just to give my hair some lift and shine, it's amazing ♥

7] Perfume:

I have been wearing Thierry Mugler "Angel" for years now and I honestly don't ever want to run out of this stuff - it smells so good and everyone always asks what it is when I have it on.
I think this is my favourite perfume ever! ♥

8] Handbag:

Yet another(!) Primark goodie, I got this ages ago and I just love the colour of it..
It's all soft and slouchy and it goes with almost anything, so I tend to grab this bag the most.
The bottom photo shows a side view and the detail at the base of one side of the strap - simple but cute ♥

So that's it ladies, this post has taken me all day to do as my little boy is teething and he is really suffering bless him :[
He's a very grumpy little man!

So I've seen a lot of people doing this on YouTube, but since I don't do videos (yet!) I thought I would answer the same questions on here..
I love learning more about people, and I hope you enjoy this post! :)

1] Thing you cannot leave the house without:

This would have to be my handbag - even if I'm just popping to the shop, I'd feel weird if I didn't bring it with me!
It has my purse, make up, iPhone, oyster card, keys and all sorts in it so I'd be lost without it.

2] Favourite brand of make up:

If I've got more money to spend I think it would have to be Benefit, but if we're talking about a basic drug store brand, then it would be between Bourjois and Loreal.
Some other favourites are Barry M, Rimmel and Revlon - it's so hard to pick!

3] Favourite flower:

This is tricky..
It's either going to be rose or lily.

4] Favourite clothing store:

I love Primark for a bargain, and H&M and Topshop for more long lasting clothes.

5] Favouite perfume:

I used to always wear Angel and I still do wear it often, but right now I'm slightly obsessed with Jessica Simpson "Fancy" - it's so sweet smelling, I love it!

6] Heels or flats:

Flats, definitely!
I hardly ever wear heels because as much as I love how they look, they hurt my feet and I walk like an idiot in them, haha..
I used to live in Converse All Star High Tops, but now I love ballerina pumps for everyday wear ♥

7] Do you make good grades:

I've always done well in the more creative subjects, but I was quite rubbish at maths and chemistry and things like that..
My favourite subjects (and the ones I did best at) were English Literature, Drama, History and Design and Technology.
I always had to work hard in order to do well though, I never sailed through things, especially exams as my mind always goes blank when I'm under pressure!
I studied Childcare and Education at college and did well at that, purely because I loved it so much..
When I find a subject difficult or dull, my brain gives up, haha!

8] Favourite colours:

My absolute favourite colour is pink (typical girl!) but I also love teal, peach and coral in particular.

9] Do you drink energy drinks:

I used to drink Red Bull with vodka all the time but I don't anymore.

10] Do you drink juice:

I do - I love all kinds, from orange aquash to Ribena to Mango juice - yum!

11] Do you like swimming:

I love swimming - I'm scared of the sea though so I prefer to swim in pools.
I haven't been in ages though, as there are no nice places to swim near where I live :(
I am determined to take Oliver to Mum and baby swimming group though, so I'm on the look-out for somewhere ♥

12] Do you eat fries with a fork:

Only if I'm at a restaurant or something - if I'm grabbing some while I'm on the go I just make sure I wash my hands and use them instead!

13] Favourite moisturiser:

I love Simple Oil Balancing Moisturiser!
I use this stuff every day - it's so inexpensive but it really does the job.

14] Do you want to get married later on in life:

I do, yeah..
I'm determined that I will marry once and it will be for life :)

15] Do you get mad easily:

I never used to but as time has gone by I have got less and less tolerant!
It's not good but I do have a short fuse unfortunately.
The good news is that I never start an argument and I am working on it!

16] Are you in to ghost hunting:

Nooo, I'm too much of a wuss, haha!
But I love scaring myself with shows like Most Haunted :D

17] Do you have any phobias:

Number one would be drowning. I have recurring nightmares about it, urgh.
I used to be petrified of spiders but I'm not so bad now..
I also hate heights and get really dizzy when I look down from high up!

18] Do you bite your nails:

I used to when I was a lot younger, but I only nibble them now when I'm really nervous or upset.

19] Have you ever had a near death experience:

I wouldn't class it as near death, but I was in a car crash and the other car smashed in to the passenger door where I was sitting..
The door crumpled inwards so when I went to get out, the door wouldn't budge.
People were shouting saying the car was leaking petrol, so I was going crazy - you know when you're in such a panic, that your movements get all shaky and clumsy?
Well that's what happened to me, but I finally managed to get out from the drivers side - it was one of the might frightening experiences of my life.

20] Do you drink coffee:

I used to, but now the only hot drinks I have are hot milk and hot chocolate - I drink tea very rarely.

Oliver had his bath last night and I did his 3 step bedtime routine, and I put him down to sleep in my Mums room as I was still busy in my room..
He slept from 10.30pm straight through 'til 6am!! :D

Gosh, I'm so sorry I don't update this more often but I don't seem to have the time, what with the baby and everything :[
I will do my best though! ♥

I have been a bit poorly lately - I had asthma when I was 3 and it went away once I got to secondary school..
But I had an attack a few days ago!
Was so scary..
My Mum was cutting the grass and my hayfever started acting up, which I wasn't really surprised about, but then out of nowhere I couldn't breathe and I was all wheezy and tight in my chest, and so I went to lie down..
But then it got worse so my Mum called an ambulance and they came - I was so embarrassed because all my neighbours were being nosey and looking out of their windows - one even came and stood outside to watch!! :/
WEIRD.
I was given a nubuliser and oxygen, then taken to the hospital.
Once I got there they made me do the peak flow meter and we were sitting around for what felt like ages..
Then I got sent home with no meds or anything, because the doctor said they don't like giving people inhalers incase they take them too often >.<
I was so annoyed.
I felt alright and I was just hoping it was a one-off, so I got a cab home.
The next day I still didn't feel right and then my neighbour cut the grass in both her gardens, and sure enough I had another attack, so off to the hospital I went again..
This time I was rushed through and they gave me 6 types of medicine and eventually after hooours of sitting around I was sent home with an inhaler!
I've only had to use it once, but I have this awful cough and I seem to wheeze and rattle in my chest a lot, so I'm going to see my gp next week :[
BAH!

I hate being ill, it's actually so much harder to look after the baby when I feel so awful.
But he is being such a darling - he's started to really grab at his toys and he always puts them straight in his mouth, haha!
But his poor little gums are rock hard and he's constantly drooling and chewing things so I know he's teething..
He loves standing up and shouting, and he laughs and smiles so much..
I feel so blessed to have him ♥

Yesterday I went to Ikea, Tesco and Mothercare World which was fun but my silly chest kept rattling and I was coughing a lot - I sounded like a heavy smoker, so nasty!
Anyway, I got my friends kids some little pressies, and a couple of things for Oliver of course - can't leave him out! :]
And then I got some candles and pictures and things like that from Ikea..
And I got Oliver new teats for his bottles in Tesco and these things by Tommee Tippee called "gummy teethers" but I ended up getting angry with a really rude and dismissive cashier, and somehow they got left behind - I was gutted because they ddn't have any more of them today, so I had to get them from another shop where they were double the price!
TSK at the stupid cashier man.

Anyway!
I got my Amazon order delivered yesterday morning and I was so excited - I got 3 new books: "Angel Uncovered" by Katie Price and "The Goddess Guide" and "The Goddess Experience" by Gisele Scanlon ♥
I know the Katie Price one is trashy but I love her books, they're too addictive, haha!
The ones by Gisele Scanlon really are amazing - so beautiful to look at and I really can't wait 'til I have time to sit down with a nice hot choccie and look through them properly :]

We also got a new bed with a memory foam matress and oh my goodness - I love it!
It's so comfy and I haven't had a bad back since we got it.
The only thing is that when you're getting in and out of it, there's no bounce to sort of help you move, so you feel uber heavy!
At least it's a mini workout though, haha :D

A couple of lovely things I got lately:

The first one being this bag from Primark - I saw a girl walking down the street with it and I knew I had to have one - it combines two of my fave things; leopard print and sequins, yay..

And then this little lot..

This was not bought all in one go, this was over the period of a month maybe!
We have the Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara which came free with Glamour magazine - I used it for the first time yesterday and I love it :D
Then Jessica Simpsons perfume caled "Fancy" - I love this because it smells so sweet and it lasts all day - I'm going to get the bigger bottle now I know i really like it.
I also got the YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in "Nude Beige" which I wanted since I very first saw it, and I found it online for about £14 so yay - it's well worth the money as it's so creamy and doesn't dry my lips out at all - I'm in love with the colour too!
I'm slighty mad about peach blush at the moment so I've been looking for one, and I found this Me Me Me Cheek'E cream blush in Superdrug which is amazing - the colour is perfect for me and it really stays put on my skin all day which is a must for me because I have almost no time for touch-ups throughout the day.

My Mum bought me this make up case from a random little shop, and it was only £4 :o
It's gorgeous!

Pink's my fave colour so she knows that when there is something pink AND related to make up, I have to have it!

Now, on to my iPhone :]
When Ste originally gave it to me on my birthday he had already applied this Hello Kitty sticker cover thing, which I adore so much!

And he just got me a hard cover so I don't feel paranoid about ruining it - I just put this on when I'm out and about or there is a bit of craziness going on in the house with kids and whatnot..

It's gorgeous - reminds me of ice cream for some reason!

When I was in Tesco yesterday I got this sock thing to keep it ultra pristine - yes, I am a perfectionist, and yes, I know it's silly, but I love it :]

Next to it is a cute little notebook which I'm going to keep in my handbag as I'm always forgetting things, and this will be perfect for little notes and lists :]

Ooh and before I forget - there is one thing I'm really pleased with, and that's just a very basic fluffy eyeshadow brush I bought at Boots for just over £4 I think, something like that - I was tempted to get a mac fluffy brush but I saw this and thought I'd try it before I splashed the cash on the more expensive one..

I have been using this brush so much since I got it!
It's nice and soft and it blends reeeeally well, with minimal shedding which is always a bonus!
There's nothing quite so annoying as brush fluff all over your lovely made-up face.

So yeah, I think that's about it for now.

Randomness..

I took Oliver to see the Doctor today, just for a check up - he is now weighing 14lbs (6.58 kg), which is apparently "chunky" (haha!) but still within the normal range :D
I had to giggle - I knew Oliver was having a growth spurt but still..
I'm a very proud Mumma!

I think I have some sort of virus or something, as I've had a horrid tummy and headache for the past couple of days :(
I conked out in bed yesterday evening (Stephens orders!) and slept for what felt like a few minutes, but when I woke up I saw it had been at least an hour, maybe two - eeek.
Luckily Oliver was fast asleep too, so Ste wasn't too stressed!
Okay that sounds silly..
It's just that I'm the main carer for Oliver as Ste works full-time and is often on-call..
So sometimes he's a bit flustered when he is left alone with Bubs.

Anyway!
My Nana bought me something on Ebay, and it came today :D
EEEEP!
Yes, that is my over-excitable noise, I apologise..
But oh my goodness, I got the "Dessert Treats" lipglosses by Jessica Simpson
*cringe*
They smell so good though, and they're all gorgeous and sparkly!!
That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :p
I wore the "Banana Split" one today and I couldn't stop licking my lips, it's so lush..

My room is a bit crazy.

The glosses are meant to be lip plumping, and I did notice a slight tingling sensation shortly after applying along with a slight difference in the appearance of my lips..
Next time I will take before and after pics :D

I just took some pics of todays make up..
As I was only going to the Doctors surgery I kept my look very neutral and basic.
I used these products:

We have an Almay "Intense i-Color" powder shadow set - "03 Trio for brown or hazel" - I only used the lisghtest colour in this set for highlighting the browbone and I also used a little in the inner corners of my eyes.
Then we have a Barry M Dazzle Dust in number 44 which was used on the outer corner and crease, and a Mini Bourjois eyeshadow powder in number 2 which I used all over the lid, it's such a pretty golden shimmer, I love it!
I added some GOSH "Bananas" to the inner corner, and then just some black Barry M liner along the upper lashline, followed by 2 coats of black Maybelline "the colossal volum' express" mascara.

Complete with messy "the baby just pulled me!" hair and tired eyes of course, haha..

What made you choose your blog/twitter/youtube username?
Gosh, this is a long story!
But to cut is short, My Nana always called me "peaches and cream" right from when I was little because of my skin, and once people heard that, it soon got shortened to peaches..
Then of course came the various other versions, like peachylaaa, peachypops etc.. :)

What's your actual name?
Nicola, although I only get caled that when I'm in trouble, haha!
Most people either call me Nic or Nikki.

Do you have any nicknames?
Sooo many!
The funniest one is "Snitch" which my Daddy insists on calling me and always has, but I don't even know why!!
I will never forget being in my birthing pool when I was in labour, and he came upstairs to my room, peeked round the door and went "Alright Snitch?" infront of the midwives and everything!
I was rather embarrassed.

Apart from the obvious make up / beauty hobby, what other hobbies do you have?
Like Alexis I love crafty things!
I adore making things, and I agree that people often don't realise how much time and effort goes in to making someone you care for something special :)
My favourite crafty things are making cards, doing mini story books, making collages from old magazines and photos etc. and customising things like clothing and bags ♥
Although admittedly I don't really have the time for it right now with the baby and everything, bless him.
I love drawing too, although I really don't think I'm any good at it, it's just for fun!

What do you do?
Right now I am a full time Mummy to my little boy, but I used to work in nurseries and schools with babies and children :)
I always knew I wanted to work with animals or children, despite everyone saying you shouldn't and that I must be mad, haha..
But I loved it, and I think that when I return to work I will probably go in to childminding.

What would you like to do?
Well I think I've answered that one, haha!
Whoops.
But yeah, childminding appeals because it is relatively flexible and will fit in nicely with my son, and it's a field of work that I have experience in..
But in a dream world I would love to stay at home with lots of babies and do crafty things for a living! ♥

Tell us something embarrassing, but that you love doing?
Oh goodness!
Weeeell..
I think I mentioned in the last quiz that I did, I basically have zero confidence so everything embarrasses me!
I loooove singing, but will never do it infront of anyone except for my son :)
If anyone ever hears me I get sooo embarrassed and go bright red, it's awful.

Tell us a little something that we don't already know about you.
Well, takig inspiration from Alexis I will tell you about my tattoo :)
It's at the base of my spine and it's a black butterfly design..
My Dad knew I wanted a tattoo, so for my 20th birthday (why wait 'til your 21st?! haha..) he booked in for us both to go and get one done; it was one of the best days ever.
I chose that particular design to represent the changes I was going through in my life and and the transformation I felt was happening (but that's another story!) :)
I also have a labret piercing whoich I looove!
I was in Camden with my cousin years ago when we randomly decided that we should get piercings, so we did..
Tsk at our randomness!
I wanted to get my lip pierced but the woman in the shop suggested getting the labret done and I'm really glad she did because I like this much more ♥
I would like another tattoo to represent Oliver and any future children I have, but that will be all I get done because my Fiance Stephen really isn't keen on ink :(

What achievement are you most proud of?
Without a shadow of doubt, it's having my son Oliver :)
He was a surprise baby, but I knew the moment I saw him during my first scan that I loved him more than life itself.
He was born at home and I had a waterbirth which was an amazing experience.
I also had no pain relief as I wanted to be as clear-headed as possible..
But that idea kinda didn't work out, as I was so sleepy from 3 days of contractions and no sleep that my head was a mess anyway, haha!
But I will never forget the first time I saw him, being lifted from the water and just being so overwhelmed with love and pride..
I'm nearly crying just writing about it!
I want 3 more babies..
Stephen and I are planning on trying for our next bubba when Oliver is 2 or 3 :)

What do you most like about yourself?
I'm proud of the fact that I don't pretend to be someone I'm not - so many people put on an act just to please others or fit in with a certain crowd, but I feel that it's very simple; if you don't appreciate me for who I am, then it's best that we're not friends! :)
I love it when you meet someone you really click with and you get on so well without trying..

I also like that I am really friendly and very caring - I am quite a maternal person and I love when people come to me for comfort or advice - I'm always here with hugs and a box of tissues!

What would you change about yourself if you could?
Well emotionally, I'd want to be more at peace with myself and have more confidence..
But on a physical level, I'd love to have a nose job (eeekk) and a breast enlargement (after I've had all my babies).
I'd also like to lose my "mummy tummy" and various other wobbly bits, haha!

If you could have anything in the world (that doesn't cost any money), what would you want?
Ahh, that's a bit deep, for me anyway!
But this blog is for opening up, so pah, why not..
I'd want one more day with my Grandad who passed away years ago :(
I'd want him to have some time with Oliver ♥

Random waffling!..

Gosh, what a day I had yesterday!
I went shopping with Steve and Oliver, only to find that my Mum still had my cash card from when she took my rent money out of my account - ARGH!
So I had to borrow money from Steve which frustrated me..
Tsk.
Anyway!

I got Oliver his first bottle of sun block :D
It's factor 50, which is actually what I have to use - yes, really.
I am really fair skinned, and I burn whenever I'm in the sun unless I use the highest factor I can get my hands on!
All this and I'm not even a redhead, haha..
Strange.
The rest of the stuff I bought was so boring I'm not even going to mention it lol

Steve and I are thinking about going to Ikea today to pick Oliver some stuff up from the kids section :]
I love it there!

I had a bit of a rough time at the in-laws though..
We go to see Steves parents every weekend and it's almost always hard for me -
I know it sounds dramatic but it's true :[
Steves Mum is a wee bit overpowering at the best of times, but she's a lot worse when it comes to the baby.
She insists on taking him from me and doing everything, even when I ask her not to, she doesn't really listen at all which upsets me.
When I came home, I had huge hugs with my Mum and she sat Steve and I down and made us talk it out which helped, bless her..
I'm the sort of person who tends to shut down emotionally when I am upset and I won't let anyone in, so I think I needed someone who wasn't directly linked to the situation to make me talk things through.

I'm trying to see today as a fresh start and I'm not thinking about next week 'til it's here.

Ooh, completely off- topic..
I bought In Style magazine yesterday and I got the coral Nails Inc polish :D
YAAAAY!
I think its so cool that you get such a good quality nail polish for free with a mag that I love anyway ♥

I think I may have mentioned before that my Stepmum was quite an evil person and my Dad is divorcing her - weeeeell..
Now my Dad has been told even more sordid details of her life, haha..
And I find it funny that he called my Mum to tell her all about it and have a good old gossip too!
I love how my parents are friends now, they talk all the time and Mum lets my Dad come and stay for weekends so he can spend time with Oliver and I..
But it's more like a real family atmosphere now than it ever was, and I love it.
We all cook together, chat so much and laugh loads.
Of course I wish that my parents would get back together, but I don't think it will happen, purely cos they're both too stubborn!
Oh well, I'm happy with the way things are now cos I never thought it'd be this good after all that has gone on in the past :]

So anyway.
Today I have the hugest craving for ice cream!!
My sis in law gave me some of her carte dor "caramel cinnamon waffle" yesterday and oh my goodness..!!
She's not doing my diet any favours lol
I'm trying my best to cut down on the not-so-good things that I eat, but there are certain things that I find it so hard to resist!

Ooh little update, cos I started this in the morning and I'm still adding bits to it at nearly 8pm!..
We ended up going to the park today and we fed the ducks, it was lovely!
There were geese too and baby chicks, they were ever so adorable.
And there is an island in the middle of the little lake, and I could hear so many baby bird noises coming from over there - I have to admit my heart melted a bit ♥
I'm such a softie when it comes to animals!
I will post a pic of the birds soon :]

1) Morning chats with my son every day - he makes me smile so much..
2) Shopping trips! I am well and truly addicted O_o
3) Christmas - It's my fave time of the year :)
I look forward to it so much and hope it hurries up, then once it's gone I'm upset!
4) My natural hair colour coming back fully so I can pamper it and make it all lush again :)
Then next time I dye it, I think I'm going for a nice rich chocolate brown colour.
5) Getting married..
I'm not really in a rush, but at the same time I can't wait to make that commitment.
It will be a very pink sparkly affair if I have it my way :p
6) Going back to Wales.
My Fiance is half Welsh and we went there last year - I loved it!
I think we will be staying in Cardiff this time ♥
7) Reaching a point in my life where I am at peace with myself..
I'm really hard on myself and lack confidence, so I can't wait for the day where I finally give myself some credit and stop worrying so much.
8) Buying my first home with my Fiance and our baby..
I am going to love making it a real home and making lots of happy memories there..

8 Things I Did Yesterday:

1) Had hayfever :( Lots of sneezing and itchy eyes - not fun!
2) Painted my nails - I used Rimmel lycra pro in "Pop Rose" on my fingers and I can't remember the shade of the one I used on my toes, but it was by Revlon and it was purple with a metallic sheen :D
3) Watched an episode of "The Hills" - oh so trashy but sooo addictive!
I hadn't watched any of it so I'm starting at Season 1 Episode 1 - yay..
4) Gave my son a bubble bath.. He loves it! He nearly flooded my bedroom, he was splashing around so much, haha! ♥
5) Made hot chocolate for the first time in ages - so yummy, but so naughty..
Tsk :(
6) Wore my new bracelet for the first time - my Mum came home with a gorgeous silver bracelet with lots of little beads and pearls on it, all in pink, lilac and white, she's so sweet.
8) Played with my puppy, Milo :)
He's a jack russell terrier and he's a year and a half old now..
He's such a little darling, he makes me smile!

8 Things I Wish I Could Do:

1) Play the piano and bass guitar..
I've been far too scared of failure to try, urgh.
I am a wuss!
I'm determined to do it one day though :)
2) Feel more comfortable talking on the phone - when I was younger I was extremely shy, and although I'm loads better now I still get really flustered in the phone, it's so annoying.
3) Dance! I only do it when I'm drunk because I'm convinced I do it very badly :p
4) Win the lottery or just come in to a decent sum of money somehow - I would love to buy my Mum her dream house in the country and give lots to charity :)
5) Have loads of animals!
My Fiance is a cat person but I love all animals and I would love to take lots of them home from the animal sanctuary ♥
6) Lose my baby weight quicker.
The day after my son was born I was back in my pre-pregnancy jeans, but since then I'm battling my "Mummy tummy", haha..
It's a nice reminder of carrying my baby though, so I can't feel too bad about it :)
7) Add more hours to the day! There never seems to be enough.
8) Have my Dad live closer - Essex feels too far away :(

2) Anything by David Attenborough - he's amazing and I adore nature and animals :)

So yeah, other stuff..
I went to see the health visitor with Oliver today, she wanted to just check up on us both and see how we're doing.
He was fast asleep when we first went in, but just as we were about to leave, he woke up and shouted "GOOO!" :D
She rushed over to him and he was smiling at her, it was so cute ♥
She said she's really happy with his development and thinks I am coping very well - yay!
I don't have to see her again unless I feel I need to which is good.
Oliver has an appointment with a doctor to check him over on the 13th, then his first injections soon after that..
Im dreading the jabs because when he had his BCG he was so heartbroken, he cried and cried and went all red in the face - it made me cry!

Hmm, what else..
Mum says we are going to Primark soon which I'm looking forward to :)
Sometimes I go and I can hardly find anything I like, but other times there are so many gorgeous bargains, I leave with 2 huge bags full of clothes and accessories and struggle all the way home!
Either way, I'm looking forward to it.

Ooh, something else..
My Dad said he wants to take me to Paris for the day next month, because to cut a long story short, we lost contact for a few years thanks to my ex-evil stepmother and he was planning on taking me to New York back then, which she put a stop to..
So yeah, this is his new plan :D
He's got a lot less money now because of the divorce and everything, but I don't care - I just can't wait to see somewhere new with my Dad - I've never been before, so I'm hugely excited!
I lost my passport when I moved home last year, so I'm finally replacing that.
I sent off the form today but I have a feeling it's going to take forever to get my new passport :(
I will have to tell them to hurry - Paris awaits!! Heehee.

Ooh one more thing - I'm on a roll now, haha..
Oliver is growing so fast, I can't believe it.
He will be 10 weeks old tomorrow and he is already wearing clothes meant for 3-6 month olds :o
He was quite tiny when he was born, so he must be on a massive growth spurt, hooray ♥
I'm far too proud of him, he's so precious.

Anyway, I think that's it for now.

Quick update and eyeshadow experiment pic!

So it was me and Steves anniversary on the 24th, and he took me out for a meal :)
I wanted to do something different with my make up because I always seem to go for a very pinky/ neutral eye look..
So this is what I ended up with!

I used a lemony/white Chili Pepper Eye Shadow Cream all over as a base, then applied Barry M Dazzle Dust in 94 (Teal, I think?) on the lid.
Next, I put another Dazzle Dust (can't read the number on the pot as it's worn off, grr!) in a pinky/ purple shade at the outer corner, and a darker purple Dazzle Dust blended in to the crease.
I put a Mini Bourjois eyeshadow pot (shade 02) on the inner corner, and another Barry M Dazzle Dust (ice pink, I think it's called) on the brow bone as a highlight.
All very shimmery which this crappy camera phone picture doesn't show, unfortunately! :(
At first I was thinking it was too much, so I blended it lots..
Then I just ended up really liking it! So it stayed as it was in the end.
I added a winged-out liquid eyeliner (Bourjois Volume Clubbing), then I used one coat of L'oreal Voluminous mascara in black, then a coat of black Bourjois Volume Clubbing mascara over that - I do this every day and I love the false eyelash effect it gives <3
I kept my lips fairly neutral (I think I used a nude Rimmel lipstick with a shimmery honey coloured Claires Accessories lipgloss over the top) as I wanted my eyes to be the focal point :)

Steve really liked it, he said it suited me so off we went for our meal at a place in Chalk Farm called "Marine Ices" - I love it there!
We had lovely food but the best bit was dessert - we had a sundae called "Coppa Stefania"..
It has chocolate and vanilla ice cream, with a kind of hazelnut sauce and crushed nuts, and then whipped cream..
So it's basically a heart attack kind of dessert, but oh so yummy! Haha..
Here is hubby about to attack his sundae!

After we had eaten we went for a random walk along the Embankment and it was lovely..
The iPhone is awful for taking pics, especially in the dark so this was the only one I got :(

It was really nice just wandering along, joking and chatting and not having to worry about the baby - my Mum was babysitting <3
So all in all, a very nice anniversary!

In other news, I ordered the L'oreal Voluminous mascara in Carbon Black last week so I can't wait to get that - I'm dangerously close to running out of my original one!
Panic lol

I've been reading about some of the girls doing Project 10 Pan, which has inspired me to dig out some unloved products of my own before I buy more new things, so once I've got this mascara that's it for a while - I'll be rediscovering my make up and I'm actually really excited about it :)

Mini haul and other stuff..

I went out for lunch and a spot of shopping with my Mum and Nana on Monday and I had a really nice time - I left Oliver at home with Steve for the first time which was a bit heart-wrenching but they survived and so did I, haha! :]

We had a scrummy Chinese for lunch, then I bought these gorgeous things..

L-R: Ms Make Up foundation and concealer brush, Claires Accessories Lipgloss, Mini Bourjois eyeshadow and Palmers lip butter, GOSH bananas eyeliner and GOSH concealer.

I tried the lipgloss as soon as I got out of the shop and I actually really liked it!

It's a nude/ peachy kind of shade with a nice amount of shimmer to it.

I am slightly obsessed with the Palmers lip butter - it smells just like 'After Eight' mint chocolates!! :D Yummm.

I used the foundation brush with my Revlon Colorstay yesterday and I was really impressed - it was easy to use and gave a nice smooth and even effect.

I have to admit that I've fallen in love with the Bourjois eyeshadow - I adore the shimmer and it goes on so nicely - it also stays put for ages..

And the GOSH concealer is lovely - I got it in the palest shade (number 1) and it works really well on my sleep-deprived under eye area :]

So yes, I am a very happy bunny!

I had the usual hit of guilt at spending money on more make up, but having tried it all I have to say I'm glad I did :]

In other news, here is a pic of me and my son yesterday..

His Daddy was out, and after a nice walk in the park with the dog, I thought it was a good time for a mini photo session!

This pic is cute, but he refused to look up, tsk!!

Stubborn baby..

Oliver is 2 months old now and such a character!

He makes me laugh so much, talking in his own little language, smiling loads and even his temper tantrums are amusing and cute to me :]

I'm sure this will wear off in time though, haha!

Sooo, I have two new films to watch, both very different..

One is "The House Bunny", purely because I think it looks silly and funny and that's what I need now really :]

The second one I'm really excited about, and it's "Grey Gardens" - I love drew Barrymore and from what I've heard about this film, I'm going to really enjoy it!

I've also got "Secret Diary of a Call girl" to watch (haven't seen any of it yet) and The Hills (again, haven't seen any of it! Eeeekk..)..

Basically because my son is a demanding little fellow I haven't got time to read, and watching things is so much easier when you're feeding or changing nappies or whaever!

I will also be catching up on my subscriptions on youtube of course, as I can't bear missing out on all the beauty goodness :D

So that's it for now I think, if I think of anything else and I have time, I will write again.

Hi everyone - well, whoever reads this! :]
I have been reading a lot of the 'beauty guru' blogs and oh my goodness, they are so addictive!
They make me want to go and buy lots of pretty new things ♥
And seeing as though I'm always on the look out for something new, it's no surprise that I ordered a new foundation online which came in the post today - I love getting things in the post!
I'm like a kid, honestly. I got Revlons Colorstay because I've heard a lot of good things about it and I like the idea of having long lasting coverage - I have so little time to myself these days, I need something that isn't going to need reapplying lots.
I saw it for £11.75 in Boots but bought it for about £7 on Ebay!
Bargains make me happy :)
I got it in 'Ivory' and it's the perfect match for my super fair skin.
I love this foundation - it really evens out my skintone, and it certainly stays put!
I have a 7 week old son and no matter how much I snuggle him, this foundation does not budge :)
I also really like how healthy and fresh this product made me look - I've been pretty sleep-deprived lately but once I had my foundation on, I looked 10 times better!
The only thing I can think of which isn't great about this foundation is the smell of it in the bottle - it reminds me a little bit of paint!
But once you put it on your skin you really don't smell it anymore.
Another product I got recently that has really got me hooked is actually from Claire's Accessories :oI was in there looking at hairclips the other day and the lipbalms caught my eye - I picked up one called "Fairy Cakes" as it was the last one there (I thought it must be good if it was selling out!).And sure enough it's gorgeous - really does smell like sweet fairy cakes and has a lovely texture too; not too sticky and glides on nicely.A few people have said how nice it smells and asked what it is which is great!I'm going to pick up another pot soon as it's only £1.50 and I know I will run out in the not too distant future the way I'm going through the stuff!
In other news, I have a horrible cold! :(My hubby Steve got it first, then I did, and our son Oliver had just started getting the snuffles, sneezing and coughing - I feel so bad that he is poorly!It's horrid seeing him under the weather.I've just been taking paracetamol but I think I might need some lemsip or something - not the lemon one though cos it makes me feel really sick :/
Another thing on my mind which is actually a lot more serious than make up and colds, is my Nana and her health..We found out recently that she had a cancerous lump in her breast and she had an operation to remove it a few days ago.She seems to be on the mend, but she is due to start radiotherapy soon and I am dreading it..They say it might make her tired and groggy, but I do hope she won't feel too awful.I'm also praying that the cancer was caught early (they think it was) and it hasn't spread.We will hear more about that side of things soon thank goodness; I feel like I really just need to know.
Anyway, I think that's enough for a first entry - I will write more when my little man gives me some time :D ♥xoxo
